Jégkert is a true "shape-shifter" at Széna Square: our huge beer garden awaits you with 36 types of domestic craft beers on tap from May to September, and from October to April, it functions as an ice rink and beer bar with 24 types of craft beer, featuring night skating, public ice sessions, skate-hockey school, and amateur ice hockey, along with pub food! The great atmosphere with the beer selection and lanterns lasts all year round, and with good weather, you can discover another side of the garden area.

Jégkert is located in the heart of Buda, at Széna Square, opposite Mammut 2, behind the old Buda city wall. You can enter from Varsányi Irén Street, which runs parallel to Margit Boulevard, every day from 11 AM to 1 AM. Jégkert is the ideal place for friendly conversations, after-work drinks with colleagues, pleasant dinners, romantic dates, meeting new people or breaking up, watching sports, corporate events, birthdays, bachelor parties, baby showers, class reunions, hangover recovery, business meetings, networking, energizing, or forgetting your worries.

Our philosophy is to provide a platform for domestic craft breweries so that you can also taste the excellent Hungarian craft beers. In summer, you can choose from a unique selection of 36 different draft beers, and in winter, from 24 types! Our tap list is constantly changing, so it's worth hurrying to try a beer if you've spotted one on tap :)! Along with our wide beer selection, you can order a four-piece beer tasting, allowing you to try several beers and discover which one you like best. The permanent menu features pub food, Hungarian flavors, and giant hamburgers. The Chef’s weekly specials include extraordinary soups, salads, and unique main courses. On weekdays from 11 AM to 3 PM, we offer a discounted lunch menu, and the garden is also a great choice for family lunches on weekends: friendly service and a cozy atmosphere, with a kids' corner and games for the little ones. If you'd like to watch something different from what's currently on the big screens, just let the waiter know, and we'll switch to the sporting event you're interested in!

At Jégkert, you can place orders directly from your phone by simply requesting a QR code from the waiter. You can order food and drinks to your table all day without needing to look for a waiter! Plus, you can even settle your bill online from your phone while sitting at your table, using your bank card – it’s extremely convenient!

At Jégkert, we have a guest card payment system: upon entry, everyone receives a guest card with a unique code, which can be used to order anything in the garden. There's no need to take out your wallet for every round; you can pay the total amount when leaving. This is ideal for groups of friends, as it helps avoid the hassle of splitting the bill at the end of the night.

Becoming a fan of Jégkert is quite easy, and it’s worth it in the long run. You can request a free, personalized loyalty card that comes with permanent discounts: for every pint of beer, shot of pálinka, and daily lunch menu, you’ll receive 100 points on your card (1 point = 1 HUF), which can be redeemed on future visits. With the loyalty card, you can enjoy discounts all year round at Jégkert and, from autumn to spring, at the Buda Ice Rink located in Jégkert’s place!
